The Dolly is a bottle-shaped large diaphragm microphone using a 25 mm gold-sputtered 6-micron dual diaphragm capsule. The pattern is a fixed cardioid. The head-grille is multi-layered brass mesh and the electronics are Class A fully discrete and transformerless. The Dolly comes in three different finishes – violet, white and black. When used as a close vocal microphone, The Dolly Black has a somewhat more compacted low frequency response due to the smaller holes in the black painted grille.
