Common name: Turner 505

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The 505 is a dynamic cardioid microphone featuring adjustable bass response controlled by a rotary switch with “normal” and “less bass” positions with the latter starting to roll-off below 100 Hz for close-up use. It provides smooth and wide frequency response. Each microphone is extensively tested and adjusted for consistency during production. The cardioid polar pattern response is very selective with excellent front-to-back discrimination making it ideal for critical applications where feedback is a problem. An internal windscreen reduces wind, breath and pop noise when used close to the source. Mechanically transmitted noise is attenuated by the internal rubber shock-mount. 500 series microphones are finished in satin chrome except for the 510 finished in non-reflective broadcast grey. The 500G and S-500G models are also available in gold finish for house of worship use. All models except the FM500 are switchable between high and low impedance and supplied with a Cycolac swivel stand adapter and detachable 20-foot, three conductor, shielded black PVC jacket.
