ELA M 251T

Common name: ELA M 251T

Production Status: In production

The ELA M 251T is a large diaphragm multi-pattern condenser microphone. It is based on the classic ELAM 251 but introduces a new capsule, the CK-13 that uses Alloy 2213 for the diaphragm membrane. The alloy is made of a mixture of Titanium and Aluminium. This being more rigid than gold results in a tighter and more accurate low-end response and a more delicate top-end. The CK-13 is a dual backplate, edge-terminated capsule with switchable omnidirectional, cardioid or figure of eight polar patterns. The amplifier is based around a premium NOS ECC801S vacuum tube and a Haufe T14/1 output transformer. The 251T is finished in a nickel-plated finish to reflect the modern proprietary capsule technology compared to the all vintage M251E. Includes M 950T power supply, M 850T 25′ Sommer tube microphone cable, Rycote shock mount, FC50 locking flight case and WB wooden microphone box.
