ifet7

Common name: Soundelux ifet7

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The ifet7 is a phantom powered fet condenser microphone designed to capture the high SPL handling and sound of the classic fet47. The ifet7 marries the classic 87 circuit with the k47 capsule, resulting in a unique variant of the fet47. The microphone has both a “V” (vocal) and “i” (instrument) mode selecting two different sets of internal amplification circuits to provide either the fet47 or modified 47fet sound characteristics. The “V” mode is 4 dB more sensitive than the “i” mode and minimal Class A electronics are employed for a more seductive vocal sound than the original 47fet. In the “i” mode, the mic employs the classic Class AB electronics found in the original and exhibits the same behaviour as the original while increasing LF headroom, thanks to the larger core of the output transformer. The ifet7 features an integral stand adapter arm and has an optional shock mount. Specifications shown are for the “i” mode.
