Common name: Shure KSM42

Production Status: In production

The KSM42 is a dual 1″ gold-plated mylar diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone. The capsule is internally shock mounted to minimise vibrations. It is aimed primarily at vocal recording and exhibits a tailored low-frequency roll-off. The passive back diaphragm allows for tight control of low frequency proximity effect when recording close-miked vocals. The three stage mesh grille minimises wind and breath noise while the ShureLock rubber shock mount with low profile magnetic Popper Stopper filter helps controlling plosives. The KSM42 uses Prethos Advanced Preamplifier Technology for excellent transient response and low self-noise. Includes ShureLock shock mount, Popper Stopper magnetic pop filter, aluminium carrying case and velveteen pouch.
