Common name: Sennheiser MKH 8050

Production Status: In production

The MKH 8050 is a third-generation RF condenser microphone using the well-proven symmetrical capsule design. The electronics are packaged into a very short body which has an additional XLR connector section (MZX8000). This can be remoted using an intermediate cable. Alternatively, a range of stands, extension tubes and other mounts with the proprietary connector can be used. The frequency response extends to 50kHz. The push-pull capsules have inherently low distortion and, being low-impedance capacitor types, the electronics can use low-noise bipolar transistors rather than FETs. The output is transformerless.
