USB2200a

Common name: sE Electronics USB2200a

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The USB2200A is large diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone based on the SE2200a but fitted with a USB interface. The design includes a headphone output with balance control which can listen to the playback and record path, allowing zero latency monitoring. The USB 5V line provides power via a filtering circuit to improve noise performance. The device is USB 2.0 and 1.x compatible and has bidirectional stereo conversion. A gain control is fitted and conversion is 16bit at 44.1 – 48kHz although the internal converter is capable of 24 bit. The microphone is equipped with a switchable 10 dB attenuation pad and a 100 Hz 6 dB/octave low-cut filter. It also features a switch to select optimal Mac (A) or PC (B) output level. The USB2200A provides USB and analogue output (via XLR) simultaneously depending on application or for redundancy purposes. It can be powered via USB or via 48v phantom power.
