With the PolarFlex™ microphone system consisting of one or two double microphones (see photo) and the DSP-4P processor box nearly any conceivable microphone can be modelled. It is not simply switched from one pattern to another as with conventional switchable microphones. With the PolarFlex™ system the user can divide the audio range into three sections in each of which the polar pattern can be adjusted separately. Thus effects can be achieved which are impossible with conventional multi-pattern microphones or equalisers. Even physically impossible microphones can be created such as a cardioid which becomes an omni at the low-frequency end.
