Common name: Schoeps MK 41

Production Status: In production

The MK 41 is a small diaphragm supercardioid condenser capsule for the Colette system. It has a natural sound due to flat frequency response which remains largely the same for all directions of pickup. Its polar pattern is exceptionally frequency-independent: sounds from the side and back are strongly attenuated, but picked up without false coloration. The high directivity, at low and medium frequencies comparable to that of a shotgun microphone. The MK 41 therefore offers an interesting alternative to a shotgun microphone as the lack of an interference tube allows positioning closer to the sound source. It is ideal for recording dialogue for film sound, indoor recording and as a spot microphone in the orchestra and on the opera stage. Specifications shown refer to the capsule used in combination with the CMC6 xt preamplifier.
