The MK 2XS is a small diaphragm omnidirectional condenser capsule for the Colette system. It has a considerable high-frequency response elevation at 0°. The MK 2XS (formerly 3) is designed for placement in a diffuse sound field where the frequency response of the capsule is essentially flat. It is therefore ideal as a room ambient microphone. If used near a sound source, the resulting sound would be excessively brilliant. Specifications shown refer to the capsule used in combination with the CMC6 xt preamplifier.
