CMTS 501

Common name: Schoeps CMTS 501

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The CMTS 501 is a small diaphragm side-addressed stereo condenser microphone with two separate capsules. The bottom one is fixed to the microphone body while the top one can be rotated up to 180°. The capsule can be independently switched between omnidirectional, cardioid or figure of eight polar patterns via a mechanical system where each capsule employs only one membrane. The capsule is manufactured from Mylar fro better long-term reliability. The microphone is 48 V phantom powered and is available with Tuchel T 3085 connector (D) or XLR-5 M (U). A special version with positive pole grounded is available on request (P). The corresponding Schoeps power supply is the NS 500.
