CMT 25
Common name: Schoeps CMT 25
Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage
The CMT 25 is a phantom powered small diaphragm transistor microphone first produced in 1964. It features a single metal diaphragm capsule with a mechanically switchable omnidirectional or cardioid polar response. It covers the application ranges of the CMT 22 and CMT 24 with almost identical frequency response and directivity. It uses a radio-frequency circuit in which the capsule modulates a 3.7 mHz radio-frequency carrier to produce an output voltage and a transformer-less output stage with coupling capacitors. The microphone is insensitive to temperature up to + 70° Celsius, moisture, electric and magnetic fields. The CMT 20 series is powered by 8.5 V phantom power.
