The CMD 42 is a digital microphone amplifier that uses the AES42 interface to transfer the signal from the capsule directly into the digital domain.
The microphone can be controlled either via a control interface (AES42 Mode 2) or via the free Schoeps “CMD Remote App” where parameters can be set and sent to the microphone. The CMD 42 supports sample rates up to 192 kHz and extended frequency range beyond 40 kHz. Signal processing tasks such as compression and limiting as well as stereo upmix are available directly within the microphone.
