The CCM 5 is a compact small diaphragm multi pattern condenser microphone. It can be switched between omnidirectional and cardioid polar patterns. It has only one diaphragm and thus is a true pressure transducer in the omnidirectional position with a constant frequency response at all frequencies, low sensitivity to most wind and breath noise, handling noise and no proximity effect. Unlike conventional, dual-diaphragm multi-pattern microphones, its cardioid setting retains its full directionality even at very low frequencies. The CCM 5 has a gentle high frequency presence. It is ideal for vocals, spoken voices and acoustic instruments as a spot microphone in the cardioid position and for stereo recordings with coincident, ORTF and M/S setups. Matched pairs are available although normal production tolerances are very close. Custom colours are available on request. Each CCM microphone is available as a standard version “L” with a Lemo plug and as a version “U” with a permanently attached 5 m cable and XLR-3M connector.
