The CCM 22 is a compact small diaphragm open cardioid condenser microphone. This new pattern combines almost the full directionality of the CCM 4 with the sonic signature of the wide cardioid CCM21. The directional pattern is mostly constant across the whole frequency response range. It is ideal as a spot microphone for soloists. The CCM 22 low-frequency response is more pronounced than the CCM4 but with less proximity effect. The open cardioid polar pattern, falling between the cardioid and wide cardioid was developed by Schoeps in 2008. Matched pairs are available although normal production tolerances are very close. Custom colours are available on request. Each CCM microphone is available as a standard version “L” with a Lemo plug and as a version “U” with a permanently attached 5 m cable and XLR-3M connector.
