CMS-7s

Common name: Sanken CMS-7s

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The Sanken CMS-7s is a portable MS stereo condenser microphone for indoor and outdoor TV and radio broadcasting and motion picture making. It is equipped with two titanium diaphragms. These are immune to temperature and humidity changes. The CMS-7s is supplied with a special high-voltage PSU which includes matrix circuitry (CMS-MBBII), to record stereo signals in 5-point selectable angle ranges. Due to the MS array, the microphone delivers a very good ambient sound without any lack of the very precise centre image. It is the first microphone of its kind to boast axial directivity, its compact size and weight enable a single person to handle all outdoor stereo recording. The CMS-7s will mount to any standard 19 mm diameter hand-grip. Includes CMS-MBBII power supply and matrix box. (The CMS-MBBII is identical to the CMS-MBBI but adds an headphone monitoring output).
