CMS-2

Common name: Sanken CMS-2

Production Status: In production

The CMS-2 is an M-S stereo condenser microphone equipped with one-micron thick titanium diaphragm capsules. The original Sanken’s Push-Pull type capsule design is capable of 6dB higher sensitivity than similar sized conventional microphones. The titanium diaphragm provides a wide frequency response and the ability to withstand high SPLs up to 145dB. The CMS-2 is designed primarily to record orchestras and choirs in theatres, concert halls and churches. It is also well suited for TV / radio broadcasting, and studio and live music recording. It offers a natural, uncoloured sound and a perfect reproduction of the stereo sound image. The matrixed output appears as 2 virtual 127° crossed hyper-cardioids. Includes H-21D microphone holder and vinyl case. This model is not available in China and in the EU.
