VL373

Common name: Samar Audio Design VL373

Production Status: In production

The VL373 is a stereo ribbon microphone. The two ribbon elements are very close to each other to minimise phase distortion. The motor structure is the same as the one used in the VL37. The VL373 features a special swivel mechanism allowing to change the angle of the stereo spread from 60 to 120 degrees. It is ideal for orchestral recordings, choirs, small ensembles drum overheads, piano, and stereo recordings of solo instruments. It features a low noise, low distortion, custom-made amorphous core toroidal transformer, a motor with a short front-to-back path, a fine tuning adjustment mechanism for the low-mass ribbon with a proprietary corrugation process to ensure durability and a built-in pop filter. Includes wooden box and anti-vibration shockproof microphone clip.
