The AL959 is a stereo ribbon microphone based on the AL95. It employs a uni-body design, innovative motor structure and very few parts resulting in a competitive retail price. It features a piston corrugated ribbon for lower noise, lower resonance modes, more controlled bass response and higher sound pressure label capability compared to a traditional ribbon design. It is also less fragile. The ribbon motors are custom hand-wound amorphous-core toroidal transformers for very low noise and distortion. It is ideal for choir, small group recordings, drum overheads, piano, guitar and stereo room recordings. Includes an injection-molded carrying case, microphone clip and 5-pin XLR cable to two 3-pin XLR.
