The SF-24 is a stereo ribbon microphone pair in a single housing. The 1.8 micron ribbons have low mass and superb transient response. The design has no audible diffraction effects or cavity resonance, and off-axis colouration is negligible. The transducer uses 4 Neodymium magnets and Permendur pole pieces in a patented cross-field motor to allow short front-to-rear ribbon paths for optimum HF response. The SF-24 uses active electronics to give output levels comparable with most studio condenser microphones. The low output impedance makes it suitable for any microphone preamplifier and for driving long cable runs.
