Common name: Royer R-10 Hot Rod

Production Status: In production

The R-10 Hot Rod is a limited edition 25th Anniversary ribbon microphone. It features a shock-mounted 2.5-micron aluminium ribbon element, Rare Earth Grade 52 Neodymium magnets and a Custom Anniversary Edition output transformer providing 5 dB more output than the standard R-10 model. The R-10 Hot Rod’s patented offset-ribbon design positions the ribbon element toward the front of the transducer, which allows for high SPL handling on the front (logo) side and the option of a brighter response when recording lower SPL sound sources. The ribbon element is formed with a patented direct-corrugation process and the ribbon transducer is wired for hum-bucking to reject electromagnetically induced noise. The built-in windscreen provides protection from air blasts and plosives while reducing proximity effect. The R-10 Hot Rad is ideal for electric guitar amplifiers, acoustic guitar, violin, ukulele, banjo and vocals. Includes microphone holder, microphone sock and carrying case. Matched pairs are available.
