The Colares is a large diaphragm transformer-coupled cardioid condenser microphone inspired by the ElaM 251. It features a 34 mm edge terminated capsule, a 10 dB attenuation pad and a filter switch to tailor the low frequency response in order to compensate for proximity effect. The Colares is ideal for vocal recordings and equally suitable for a wide range of sources such as bass amplifier cabinets and drum overheads. The microphone uses a specially selected NOS JFET, US made film and foil capacitors, 1% tolerance resistors, C&K premium switches and a custom Cinemag transformer. Includes a Rycote shock mount and a heavy-duty flight case.
