Common name: Reslosound RBT

The Mayfair-based Reslo company produced many versions of the RBT ribbon microphone in the 1960s. A VBT broadcast version was also made. The transformer mounted in the cylindrical stem provides matching and Low (White plug dot), Mid (Green or Blue plug dot) and High (Red, yellow, orange plug dot) impedance variants exist – some also have switchable impedance. The ribbon is positioned to the rear of the mic and the shells can be removed to allow various acoustic filter”pads to be fitted. These modify both frequency and polar response to a degree. Twin mounts and stereo pairs have been made.
