The 50A is a compact and very rugged omnidirectional inductor microphone for speech applications. A 0.010 inch aluminium conductor is coupled to a diaphragm and located between the poles of a permanent magnet with its length perpendicular to the magnetic lines of force. Sound pressure reaching the diaphragm vibrate the conductor within the magnetic field set up by the magnet then generating alternating electric potentials across the primary winding of the transformer. The microphone has a program stand flange for floor stand or suspension mounting.
