Common name: Pearl DS 70

Production Status: In production

The Pearl DS 70 is a four channel multi-pattern stereo microphone. It is equipped with Pearl’s 2800 rectangular membrane capsule and Vovox wiring. It supersedes the quad channel DS60. The DS 70 features two dual membrane capsules to provide recording in M-S, XY, Blumlein, Surround, omnidirectional, cardioid, figure of eight and intermediate patterns. The four discrete channels can be separately recorded into the DAW for post processing and pattern choice selection at a later stage. The capsules in the DS 70 have a new arrangement to minimise internal reflection as well as a new vibration damping to minimise noise. It also has an improved indication system to show assignment of each capsule membrane to the respective output cable. The microphone is multi-purpose and excels at recording small ensembles, vocals, choir and organ and material for surround format production. Includes aluminium flight case, Rycote elastic suspension, 10 metre 8 core cable and four way termination box with four XLR3 outputs.
