Common name: Nevaton MC440

Production Status: In production

The MC440 is a large 33-mm diaphragm condenser microphone available with either a cardioid, wide cardioid, omnidirectional or figure of eight fixed polar patterns. The gold-sputtered diaphragm is artificially pre-aged to guarantee stability and the capsule is mounted on a damper to eliminate vibrations. It uses the same capsule found in the MC416 but adds new Class A transformer-less electronics resulting in an ultra-low self-noise and extremely wide frequency response. It is equipped with a selectable 70 Hz or 120 Hz, 6 dB/octave low-cut filter. The capsule is heated to maintain parameter stability in adverse climate conditions. The heating can be switched between 4mA or 8mA current settings. The microphone is also filtered against RF interference. Includes wooden box.
