The U 47 P is a U47 derived microphone released in 1955 as a special design for Philips. It has no head grille at the top but a Z1 “torpedo head” adapter fitting M3, M5, M 48 and M 48a threaded capsules as well as the M7, M8 and M9 with the Z2 adapter. These capsules fit the CMV 3 microphone too. The microphone amplifier is unchanged and uses the Telefunken VF 14 M. The output impedance is switchable between 150 and 600 Ohm instead of 50/200. This microphone is fully compatible with the U 47 PSU cable and accessories. It is rare as less than 100 pieces were produced.
