XY-8

Common name: Milab XY-8

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The XY-8 is a fixed cardioid condenser microphone with two independent large dual diaphragm condenser capsules and FET amplifiers. Polar pattern is variable from cardioid to omnidirectional and bidirectional with in-between positions by varying the levels of the two microphone outputs. One of the two capsules can be rotated by 180º resulting in great flexibility for both mono and stereo pickup applications. It provides an extremely smooth frequency response both on-axis and off-axis The rectangular capsules are the same used in the CD-63 and are internally suspended with a silicone rubber mount. Includes 10 m microphone cable, stand adapter, 8320/S power supply, microphone case and shock-mount.
