Common name: Microtech Gefell MK 103.1

Production Status: In production

The MK 103.1 is a 1” measuring microphone cartridge designed for acoustical measurements in research and development and also for industrial use. Applications include audiology, the measurement of building acoustics and noise levels. The microphone cartridge is designed and manufactured to ensure excellent longtime stability of the electro-acoustical parameters. All essential components including the diaphragm are made of nickel and the diaphragm is bonded by a special galvanic process. The rear electrode is insulated from the cartridge housing by a quartz glass plate. The diaphragm is protected against mechanical damage by a protection grid in which an insulated calibration grid is integrated. This allows convenient measurement of each cartridge’s frequency response curve by applying a well-defined electrostatic field (400 volts/dc, 30 volts/ac) without removing the protection grid or requiring special spacers. The equalisation of the static air pressure between the inside and outside of the MK 103.1 cartridge is achieved by means of a capillary tube rear-vented into the preamplifier. The measuring microphone cartridge MK 103.1 can be screwed onto all standard 1/2” threaded amplifiers or sound level meters using the A 63.1. adapter. The measuring microphone cartridge MK 103.1 is designed for sound level meters of IEC Type 1 according to IEC 61672. Includes wooden case.
