Common name: Marek Design RS1
Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage
The RS1 a large diaphragm (1″) studio microphone with a capsule that can be adjusted mechanically to alter its characteristics. The signal path has no transistors and uses tube (valve), transformer-less circuitry. The flexibility of the electronic design allows acoustic levels of as high as 170.3 dB SPL, electronic output levels of +31 dBV and output noise floor of 1.5 dBA (11.5 dB CCIR) to be achieved with suitable control settings. Frequency and polar response (spec is for position 6 – fig 8) can adjusted.
