Common name: Josephson Engineering e22S

Production Status: In production

The e22S is designed as an unobtrusive side-address studio condenser cardioid for spot-miking purposes – it is essentially a C609 preamplifier with a KA22S capsule. It uses a discrete cascode FET impedance converter and a Lundahl transformer output, and is intended for matching to both transformer and direct-coupled microphone preamps. The e22S has very low self-noise and can also handle very high SPL. The slim design and small (30 mm diameter) head allow this microphone to be used even in tight percussion layouts, and the body is precision machined and very rugged.
