The C617 preamplifier is designed for use with high-voltage (200 V) metal diaphragm capsules while still operating from P48. The amplifier bandwidth is 10Hz – 80 kHz +/- 1 dB and it uses a cascode FET impedance converter with a balanced bipolar Class A output. The C617SET is fitted with a Microtech Gefell MK221 capsule which gives high sensitivity and low noise. The ultra-thin metal diaphragm and pressure response together give a very open sound with no proximity effect, and the small capsule size (1/2) allows an almost perfect omni pattern.
