The MD3 is a large diaphragm tube condenser microphone offering cardioid, sub-cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns. It uses a 32 mm Josephson made capsule, a 12AT7 tube and a Reichenbach transformer. The MD3 is equipped with a s equipped with a variable attenuation pad ranging from 10 to 20 dB in ten steps.
