The GT 1B FET is a solid state microphone delivering excellent performance and value. This enhanced reissue of the legendary Model 1A side-address, true condenser features a hand-assembled, hand-tested 1.10-inch diameter capsule. The ultra-thin 3-micron evaporated-gold diaphragm is the thinnest in the business. The electronics uses a Class A FET amplifier. Though the least expensive Groove Tubes microphone it still offers +/-1 dB matching to the golden microphone spec to allow unrestricted stereo pairing.
