GA-47
Primary use:
Type:
Common name: Golden Age Premier GA-47
Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage
The GA-47 is a recreation of the classic U47. It uses a NOS Telefunken 800 series low noise pentode valve in triode mode to lower noise and distortion. The transformer is custom manufactured with a 6.5:1 dual bobbin. The microphone body is made of brass and the grille of iron. The GA-47 35 millimetres capsule uses a 6 micron gold-coated mylar 27 millimetres membrane on a 7 millimetres thick brass back plate. Differences between front and back plate are within 0.3 dB and sensitivities between capsules are kept within 0.5 dB. The electronic circuit is mainly built with point-to point wiring with Allen Bradley resistors, MKP, Ciarit and Mial capacitors. The cable is specially produced using 99,99% pure oxygen-free copper, teflon insulation, tin foil and 98% kit-mesh, ie with a very high braided density of the cable shield. The connectors are gold plated. The power supply uses a high power R-style transformer with low noise level and a minimal stray field and high quality electrolytic capacitors . Includes PSU and connecting cable, shock-mount, solid wood microphone box, and tweed flight case.
