Common name: Golden Age Premier GA-47 MKII

Production Status: In production

The GA-47 MKII is a large dual diaphragm vacuum tube condenser microphone switchable between omnidirectional and cardioid polar patterns. It is hand made in small series, 50 units at a time. The amplifier is based around a low noise selected NOS Telefunken EF-800 pentode tube wired as a triode to eliminate noise and distortion. The electronic components are point-to-point wired on a Rogers circuit board and all soldering points are made with Mundorf Msolder Supreme Silver Gold solder. The circuit uses Ciarit coupling capacitors, MIAL polystyrene film capacitors and Allen Bradley carbon film resistors. The GA-47 MKII is equipped with a replica of the historic BV8 transformer. Includes power supply, wooden microphone box, microphone cable, shock mount and flight case.
