The M88RP is a dynamic bidirectional microphone. It is part of the RP Laboratory Series. RP stands for Regular Phase. This system actuates the whole surface of the diaphragm with the same phase like a piston. A fine aluminium ribbon-wire coil is etched on to the surface of an extremely thin polyester film diaphragm suspended in a powerful magnetic field provided by rare-earth samarium-cobalt magnets. The diaphragm-coil assembly is 80% lighter than a typical dynamic element resulting in very high sensitivity. The unique suspension system and planar diaphragm exhibit very low distorsion even at high SPL levels. The M88RP is equipped with a switchable tree position low-cut filter. Includes P303 Isomount featuring a quick-disconnect, single button lock and individual measurement chart. The Isomount is finished in no-glare studio grey.
