The 667 is an all purpose cardioid dynamic microphone with an in-line battery operated low noise transistor preamplifier equipped with bass and treble controls as well as twenty different selectable frequency responses. The preamplifier features mylar and tantalum capacitors, 1% metal film resistors ad pot encased transistors for temperature stability. The cardioid pattern is obtained through use of three sound entrances located in the microphone case at different distances in the back of the diaphragm. The capsule diaphragm employs an exclusive ElectroVoice non metallic Acoustalloy providing a smooth response over a wide frequency range while being immune to high humidity, corrosion and mechanical shocks. It can be used handheld, on a floor, desk stand or a boom. Impedance can be selected between 50, 150 or 250 ohm by swapping soldered wires within the connector. The microphone housing is made from cast aluminium and finished in brown and gold. Includes one 50′, 3 conductor shielded broadcast type cable with UA-3-11and UA-3-12 connectors and one 20′, 3 conductor shielded, broadcast type with UA-3-11 connector. Also includes the model 300 microphone clamp, 1/2 inch pipe thread with 5/8 inch adapter, suede microphone bag and walnut finish carrying case for both preamplifier and microphone.
