A vocal microphone (hypercardioid version). The SR68 has a smooth and open response with no high-end presence peak and bass balanced for about 15cm distance. Removing the windscreen allows the SR68 gives a rather flatter response above 10 kHz so that it can be used as an excellent instrument microphone.
