The QTC50 (Quiet Time Coherent) is a small diaphragm omnidirectional condenser microphone with an extended 3 Hz – 50 kHz ruler-flat frequency response. It has a SPL rating of 140 dB and no proximity effect allowing for close positioning to the sound source. The QTC50 impulse response is also particularly fast and accurate compared to other recording microphones. The microphone is suitable for close-miking and also ambient room miking – in both cases producing transparent, uncoloured sound. QTC50s can be bought as matched pairs for spaced omni stereo recording.
