The 4071 features a fixed microphone grid with typically a 5dB soft boost at 4-6 kHz. This acoustical boost removes the requirement to provide any other compensation for off-axis positioning. An acoustic low-cut has also been incorporated in the capsule by redesigning the airing vent from the capsule. Frequencies below 100 Hz have little value for body-placed microphones and so this technique minimises the risk of overload in both the preamp and any attached wireless transmitter. The DAD6042 kit allows concealed fixing of the microphone and also reduces clothing noise in the range of 700 Hz by ~4 dB
