4040

Common name: DPA Microphones 4040

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The 4040 Hybrid Microphone has two parallel preamplifier outputs: one channel based on analytic transistor technology, and one channel based on tube technology, using a special quality sub-miniature vacuum tube (noise CCIR 22 dB, DIN 10 dBA). Both amplifiers are driven in class A (better than 0.5° phase match). It is therefore possible to mix the two outputs without any phase or sensitivity problems whatsoever. A special power supply is included with the 4040.

The 4040 has the lowest self-noise among microphones and is handcrafted using only the highest-quality components and raw materials. It comes with an individually engraved nameplate and in a strictly limited edition.
