The VSM (also known as the VSM-1) is a large diaphragm cardioid vacuum tube microphone. It features a CAD Optema series 1″ OS 110 brass capsule with 3 micron thick, 24K gold sputtered diaphragm. The amplifier circuit is based around a 12AX7 capsule driving a high speed dual operational amplifier arranged in a balanced differential configuration. The microphone features a -8 or -16 dB attenuation pad and a 80 Hz, 3dB/oct. low-cut filter. It is ideal for vocals. acoustic piano, guitars and strings. Includes shock-mount, power supply and 30 foot microphone cable.
