The Magnitube is a hand-made multi-pattern vacuum tube condenser microphone. It is ideal for vocals, acoustic instruments and room ambience. It features a built-in switchable de-esser, switchable T.H.D. control and variable output impedance. The harmonic distortion control changes the amount and type of harmonics of the circuit ranging from extremely clean to very coloured. The variable impedance is available via a multi-tap Sowter transformer. The “harsh” control acts like a de-esser for vocals as well as winds and acoustic stringed instruments. The edge-terminated capsule features 26 mm gold-sputtered diaphragms. The Magnitube features a hexagonal mesh grill design providing maximum transparency and avoiding minimum phase cancellations caused by standing waves. It is switchable between omnidirectional, cardioid and figure of eight polar patterns. Includes power supply unit and microphone cable.
