Cactus

Common name: Blue Cactus

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The Cactus is a vintage sound tube condenser mic. It uses Class A fully discrete circuitry and avoids any pad or low-cut switches. The capsule is a multi-pattern variation of the B7 Bottle microphone design using a larger diaphragm and single back-plate. The Cactus is powered by the 9610 power supply which has a soft start feature as well as a 9-position pattern switch. The soft start not only prolongs tube life but ensures correct operating conditions after just three minutes.
