The MCE 86 II replaces the earlier MCE 86/87 as a short rifle microphone for camera and general use. The construction and integral filter minimise sensitivity to wind and zoom motor noise. It uses an electronic ouptut and can feed long cable runs. The basic version is phantom powered; the suffix S is phantom or battery, and can drive unbalanced XLR or 3.5 mm jack inputs. The S version weighs 120 g and is 310 mm long.
