The inspirations for the sound of the BeesNeez Isobel FET were the Neumann U87 and the AKG C414. Neither of these mics were bright or gritty but were well balanced. The all-Australian-made Isobel is completed with the BeesNeez K6 (K67) microphone capsule and has a low self-noise, yet fast transient response. The capsule in the Isobel is the BeesNeez K6 microphone capsule, which is a perfect replica of the K67. It is a dual back-plate K6 capsule made identical to the original K67. However, the Isobel only uses half of the capsule. The microphone includes a suspension shock mount.
