Common name: BeesNeez Elly Fet
Production Status: In production
In the design phase of the Elly FET, a few deciding factors were addressed, namely: portability, self-noise, and sibilance. The end result is a phantom-powered transformer balanced fet microphone that is optimised to work seamlessly with our BeesNeez K7 Capsule. The Studio Series Elly and the Producer Series Elly both feature identical circuitry. However, the Studio Series Elly comes in a one-piece solid brass body grille, allowing a savings in cost that are pass on to the customer. The Elly FET features BeesNeez own designed E-Core single-spool transformer. The E-Core transformer in this microphone offers us the advantage of a low-leakage transformer and a small physical size. The capsule in the Elly Fet is the BeesNeez K7 cardioid microphone capsule. The K7 capsule has an almost linear response to the upper mids, and above 2000Hz, there is a slight boost of 2 to 3 dB, which then starts to roll off at 17000 Hz. The BeesNeez Elly Fet is a large diaphragm fet condenser microphone that has a rich and warm rounded tone that will work in many applications, but is optimised for vocal applications due to the fixed cardioid pattern. The BeesNeez K7 capsule, as is used in the BeesNeez Arabella and Tribute 1, has an almost linear response up to the upper mids, and above 2000 Hz there is a slight boost of 2 to 3 dB which then starts to roll off at 17000 Hz. The microphone includes a suspension shock mount.
