Common name: AKG C 422

Production Status: Discontinued / Vintage

The C 422 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone specifically designed for sound studio and radio broadcasting. The two twin diaphragm CK 12 capsules are elastically suspended to minimise noise. One of the capsule is adjustable to 0º or 45º and the other through an angle of 0º-180º in reference to the first. A remore control allows for independent adjustement f each capsule’s polar response over a range of nine patterns. It is ideal for M/S (Mid-Side) or Y/Y stereo recording. The FET preamplifiers have a switchable – 10 dB or -20 dB attenuation that pads the capsules output. Includes MK-42/20 20 m cable, S-42E remote control unit, H-15/9 suspension mount with stand adapter, W-42 windscreen and foam lined carrying case.
