The TL5000 is a dual diaphragm variable pattern design paired with a combined PSU and discrete preamp. The microphone head has a 1 capsule with a gold-plated diaphragm that can be switched to 9 polar patterns. The valve (tube) used is a 12AT7 triode. The low-cut filter and pad are mounted on the microphone but the polar pattern is controlled at the preamp/PSU, as is phase reversal and gain control. The output can bypass the preamp to give normal microphone level or be fed to a line-level analogue or optional 24bit digital output stage.
